A description of how some people spend their boxing day.

Image via Wikipedia

Christmas day is over,

The wrapping’s thrown away.

The turkey’s nothing but leftovers

We’re sure to have today.

We’ll spend the day out shopping,

For the presents we didn’t get.

Ready to battle the crowds in stores

While trying not to fret.

And when we are too tired,

To care if it’s a ‘steal’,

We’ll head back home on weary feet,

Delighted with our deals.

I’m not even in The season yet.

Our Boxing Day is spent celebrating with family. I have and will never go shopping the day after Christmas. It just seems wrong in my opinion and I hate the crowds.

Buying presents for Christmas is a big headache to me. And I often couldn’t wait until the boxing box to open the boxes. Thanks for sharing.

Great share about the holiday spirit. Happy shopping to you.

Beautifully written :) I agree with Nina, I wouldn’t go shopping on a day after holiday as well :) I always prefer the ‘unusual’ time for shopping to avoid the crowds.

An interesting piece. I always avoid the sales if I can and usually have a family get together on Boxing Day.

Thanks all! I actually avoid the boxing day crowed myself. However, whenever someone mentions boxing day this is the scene I see in my head as many of my friends and families are ’shoppers’ and love their bargains!

Kind of stressful finding the right gifts at reasonable prices. I guess that’s the challenge of the season :-)
