A man having problems with a door he installed years back, unwilling to part with it and start over new.
Once a new door, now the nub worn,
Profile rebuffed, suffering from posture inadequacy,
Beyond cosmetic changes,
The habitué discouraged with such feral placement,
Today beaten down from more than the system
His effort to fix, none to clean,
His swagger reduced to a cadre of nails strewn on the ground,
Next to his former masterpiece door
Goes to know,
Sometimes it’s a matter of breaking in, wearing out
