A poem.
I miss you like breathing air-
So seeing you my breath was caught
It skewered itself beside a sigh
I felt my organs burn and rot
And yet a smile was my reply
The fool to play, as well I ought
But cool and calm to meet the eye
It seems to me it isn’t fair
Missing you like breathing air…
I want you like breathing air-
And seeing you it must have shown
Although I know I might have lied
For while I craved you all my own
You’d never know I could have cried
Now at heart I’m still alone
Miles apart while at your side
Until you come and leave me there
Wanting you like breathing air…
I need you like breathing air-
But seeing you, it left a mark
That went unnoticed, I’ve no doubt
I swear you almost felt the spark
But of course your flame went out
Yearning to touch you in the dark
And burning when I went without
Asphyxiate me, I don’t care
Needing you like breathing air…
I miss you like the air I breathe
Like a graveyard needing death
I cannot smile or cry or seethe
I learn instead to hold my breath.
