 Brief Autobiography

 Mahmudul Hasan Hemal

As the headlight of an ancient car

My sight doesn’t go so far;

Wet darkness always grasps me

No flower blooms on lifeless tree

Green tenderness hardly meets

To which my window never greets

What has transformed to what

Where merely fascinations start

This senseless sot inevitably ride

The mysterious sea, deep and wide

No gain, no hope; no winning scope

Still no interval, nothing to stop.
