Bright Darkness.

Thoughts encircle me
And push me behind bars,
I see too much of myself,
Though I’m lying in the dark.
Whispers shout out loud,
Though you would not hear a sound,
The truth starts to shine so brightly,
Although there’s darkness all around.
Here I lie feeling trapped,
While my memories are set free,
Marching straight ahead,
Keeping me further from my dream.
Sleep is my escape,
But my mind won’t let me leave,
The key turns in the lock,
Who’s turning it? It’s me.
The dawn slowly rises and I feel
The sun rays on my eyes,
Daylight is a soothing glow,
The darkness was too bright.
