This is a poem I wrote when I was 12, its one about a trip I went to that inspired me. Its about the beach I went to and the mysteries of our planets waters.

Brigton Beach

Have you been here to this wondrous place

With waves and that flow like a ocean lace,

Brighton, the seaside, so beautiful today,

I have seen it all, and I want to stay,

Pebbles glistening like gold in the light,

Leading to the English Channel, oh what a sight,

Waves of power that crash onto rocky shores,

Sit down, look out, what can you see,

Seagulls and birds, flying so free,

A rocky shore that extends so wide and so far,

An ocean that stretches as far as the horizon,

A sight experienced only by first hand,

, Make a bridge or a palace with the tonnes of sand,

The bright ray of sun, reflected in the shimmering water

Glowing and glistening so bright and proud,

No urban sounds, so peaceful, not loud,

Brighton pier, a marvel of wonder,

But don’t jump nor dive or become a plunger,

With metal stabbed deep beneath the beautiful ocean bed,

Sea creature and shell can be found, people have said,

When you are here you may begin to wonder,

The globe has whether from cyclones to thunder,

And a quarter of the world globe is covered with land,

Be it rock, be it snow, or even sand,

But the rest of the world is covered in ocean

So you ask what’s all the commotion,

I’m saying that land holds many types of life,

But what about the ocean,

75% is it not, the water maybe freezing cold or burning hot,

What creatures lie within this vast blue world,

New animals await to be discovered,

Creatures that live on the ocean bed,

Magical ones, people have said,

So go look for them but for now,

Alas I must go I have taught you all I know

So farewell and visit this place,

Discoveries can occur that can change the knowledge of the human race.
