A poem about an abusive boyfriend, and the girl telling him shes done.
I left my heart with you,
And what did you do
You broke it right in two,
Soon after I’d given it to you.
I wanted your love,
but you didn’t care.
You got mad,
and you pulled my hair.
You had asked for another chance,
and I gave it to you.
But that was my mistake,
My mother told me not to trust you
I cried, and I cried,
And I begged you to change.
But you didn’t care;
It caused you no pain.
But now that I’m gone,
You want me back.
But it’s my turn not to care;
I’m finished with that.
I’m leaving now,
With what’s left of my pride.
I’m no longer scared,
And I refuse to hide.
I was upset,
But not anymore.
You took my heart,
And you threw it to the floor.
So now that you’re gone,
And out of my life,
I can pick up the pieces
Of my broken pride.
