A poem I wrote in high school after a bad break up with my boyfriend and then being betrayed by my then best friend. I was wrong at the time and mostly at fault but it still doesn’t feel nice to have people you love turn their backs on you.
I don’t understand
These lies you tell
Bleeding from your lips
It puts my heart into hell
A smirk on your face
It suppresses my soul
Thrown into darkness
With such a disgrace
I meant no harm
When I did what I did
The past is gone
So please forgive
I want so bad to have you again
Just to be friends
Is something I can’t begin
A Cinderella story
A fairytale ending
Happiness just isn’t real
You said you loved me
Always be there for me
You lied then
You’re not standing here
That smirk on your face
