Ending a relationship is always hard. Both are left with memories, good and bad. One is always left behind.

As I look up at the evening sky I wonder where you are.

Are you missing me as I am missing you?

Perhaps you are looking up at the stars wishing my arms were wrapped around your waist.

As I trudge back in the house a familiar smell teases at my senses.

I am dreaming as you are miles away.

As I lay awake in bed I try to bring myself back to the cold winter mornings.

Standing outside with your arms securely around me.

The sun warming my back, your kisses warming my soul.

I reach for your hand and gently suck your finger.

You inhale sharply.

Your green eyes twinkling with pleasure.

A slow smile twitches at my lips as you close your eyes.

Tilting your head towards me, running your fingers through my hair.

You pull my head closer as your lips touch mine.

A deep passionate kiss to express all that is between us.

It is then I feel the tears slipping down my cheeks.

Blinking my eyes to the light I forgot to turn off.

I sigh deeply and try to erase the memory of your lips.

You are gone and I am still here.

Waiting for the promises we made to each other to become reality.

Promises that we can not possibly keep.

A dream never to be realized.
