I wrote this for the heros of the past and the heros of present, the soilders that fight for thier countries and are willing to give their lives for it.For those that are nameless and mia and those that make it through, they suffer the losses and the pain that we do not see, as do their families.

Brother in arms
We saw you bleed
We were at your side
Until you took the lead

Grenades were thrown
Rockets were fired
The assasions on the roof
Never tired

We never stood a chance
The leaders gave their orders
We were flanked
Our trenches were banked

Brother in arms
You stood tall
For all of us
You took the fall

You went out firing
To take the rockets out
To give us a chance
Couragous brother
A final stance

Brothers in arms
We fought our way out
Because of our leader
Who caused the enemy to doubt

We stood tall
We stood united
Fear for the enemy
We had to fight it

Brother in arms we are one
We stand for you now
For you family your son
We stand for you now
Brother

Indeed a great ode for our unsung heroes that never lived to see the sun of freedom rise in giving up their lives.

Thank you for a wonderful tribute to those who have stood tall and those who are still in the fight. Additional thoughts for their families are nice, too. Another well composed write.

Thank you, for all who are serving our country. I have two grandsons who have served in Iraq. One served two missions and is preparing to go to Afganistan soon. I have a granddaughter in law who has served in Iraq and may have to go again. Her baby was born in April and she may have to leave her.Our armed forces deserve all the tribute we can give them.

Great tribute. Your words are more persuasive and sincere than those of the statesmen who sent them in harms way to test the weapons in the arsenals of the military defense projects.
