This poem is a collage poem; I wrote this as a class assignment for a collegiate poetry class. A collage poem is a poem that’s formed by the combination of two or more unrelated literary works. I combined snippets of the following sources to form this piece: "Boys Will Be Men" by Paul Kivel, pages 11 and 13, and December 26th’s Apartment Shoppers Guide (Metropolitan Philadelphia, Delaware, and South New Jersey), page 25.
At Bucks Meadow, most boys are told to “act like a man”

Love, excitement, sadness, confusion,
Anger, curiosity, pain, frustration,
Humiliation, shame, grief, resentment,
Loneliness, low self-worth, and self-doubt
