It is strange what nature brings when weather permits.

It is strange what nature brings when weather permits,

On a morning walk through a local park I see bugs,

they were crawling over the concrete pavement.

I carefully stood not wanting to stand on them.

See-ing the red and black ones that I had not seen in years.

We had a thunder and lightning show of late with rain.

We used to call them blood suckers when I was young.

I could see ants that were quite longish in length with

bigger legs than usual may it be due to humid weather.

Of course I saw my usual sightings of magpies as I entered,

mother and chick know us well as they fossick for fodder.

Due to unpredictable weather and heavy grey cloud,

wary of thunder and especially lightning took shelter by a tree

and hurriedly took a brisk walk homeward.

I do enjoy going on your nature walks with you, Peter. I love the poem.
