The sight of some buildings that dwarf the little ones may not be inviting and there are cottages much more appealing than those that rise above them.
Out of no empty, hollowed dreams
Are buildings built so prominent
As those that stand in high esteem,
Inviting though not dominant,
Bearing a form, not just a form
Loud and showy as might be;
Boasting a norm, not just a norm
Of evanescent vanity.
In the light of visions beam
Warm cottages far above
The cool pomposities that seem
To waste away for want of love.
Better a little cottoge old,
Of undiminished clarity,
Than several buildings that unfold
A mere exterior rarity.
To reach up to the boundless sky
Seems unrelated to the birth
Of those that are considered high,
Content with nothing but the earth.
