The art of the moose.

“Out of the quarrel with others we make rhetoric; out of the quarrel with ourselves we make poetry.” - W.B. Yeats

Poetry is such a subjective art; it at times defies classification or, moreso, defies judgement.  It’s nuances have always escaped me, for the most part.  But every once in a great while, we stumble onto an artist who steps far beyond that blurred line between what is good and what isn’t.  An artist who’s written creations have that rare ability to alter, even if it’s only for the briefest of moments, our perception of the world.

The first time I read a Bullwinkle Muse poem, I was genuinely inspired.  So rare is the individual that can literally paint an actual picture with words alone; to awaken your very senses with simple expressions on a piece of paper. (or computer screen as it may be)

So now, I will share with you some of his creations.  Don’t skim through them; they are like a fine wine… meant to be appreciated slowly, so as to absorb the full taste.  Sit down, grab yourself a drink.  Wait until the kids are in bed, and turn the lights down.  ‘The Moose’ is a rare talent, and one that needs to be shared.

This will be the first in a three part series featuring his work; we will, over the three parts, meet the man behind the muse, and share more of his epic works.

So let us begin our journey, through the works of a brilliant artist….

Cathedral

A brilliant piece of imagery; it delves into belief, theology, and the collective expression of.

The Seven Deadly Sins

I’ve always thought ‘topical’ poetry was garbage.  The thought of a poem about the 7 deadly sins was almost enough that in spite of my admiration for The Muse’s work, I nearly skipped it over.  It has instead become perhaps one of my favorite written pieces of any kind; like a great book, I seem to find a different perspective each time I read it. (of which there have been many).  The construct is amazing; A collection of small poems that could stand easily on their own, but create a masterpiece together.  Mark my words… you’ll read this one again and again.

The Poet’s Voice

Describing the process of creating is a tall order; one that an artist is rarely able to do.  Here it is done… eloquently.

A Love to Die For

Brutal.  Raw. Powerful. Painful. Beauty in Tragedy.

Rapture’s Eve

A look at our beginnings, our meaning, and our humanity.

This is a mere taste of the man’s brilliance.  A good number of his other works can be found here.  Stay tuned for the next chapter in the works of Bullwinkle Muse.

Bullwinkle Muse is one of THE most amazing poets I have EVER had the absolute pleasure of reading. He definitely holds a place on my list of favorites along with Poe and many other great poets in history.

Your words about his work are quite true. His works are worth setting aside time to savor and then picking up again at a later time to enjoy just as much as the first.

Couldn’t add much to what has already been expressed about the Moose. I have long admired his poetry to the point of putting him and his sidekick Fegger at the very top, and everyone else three levels below them. There are several very good poets on triond that i have high regard for, but moose and feg are the best bar none. When i talk about these two, and i know how close and respectful they are towards each other, i see so many similarities in their work that you would think they were brothers, and i expect the both of them to hit it big someday soon. Well done Mn.

Mn, bless you for this! I know Bull appreciates it – though he is probably blushing – and anyone who reads his work most certainly will also. Good on you!

The Seven Deadly Sins is far and away my favorite of those you listed here, but I have not yet read one that did not touch me somehow. The man is truly amazing with his craft – and so are you with yours, Sir!
