God’s messenger walked a rough pathway one night.
His body was toil-worn and sore.
Embarked on a spot of wild jasmine perfume.
To him was a bundle of myrrh!
Twas comfort refreshing that others had passed,
Yet no one had e’er cared before.
Twas kept from wild beasts and lone stragglers, alas,
As this messenger’ s bundle of myrrh!
So Christ is our Jasmine of fragrance Divine;
In the good and the bad times He’s sure.
To His toil-worn travellers or the basest of men,
He will be a sweet Bundle of Myrrh!
