Poem about a One Night Stand.

The word is taboo.

The taboo is passion.

The place is my bed.

The time is tonight.

My heart on a shelf.

My mind far away.

My emotions on my sleeve.

My passions in the dim light.

You came there.

You came at dusk.

You came in the window.

You came to my bed.

I waited up for you.

I removed my clothes.

I knew we shouldn’t.

I knew you’d say we should.

The time now five.

The moon now high above.

The stars soon gone to bed.

The sun soon to rise.

My bed now in shambles.

My floor covered in clothes.

My door still locked.

My window still open.

You rose to go.

You kissed my face.

You said good day.

You said you’d call.

I sit and wait.

I stare away.

I know you’ll not be back.

I know it was but one night.
