There’s not a problem finding folk to preach when preacher’s ill.
When he calls up and says, “I’m sick,” his place they gladly fill.
And the choir’s always full of folk,While some can’t even sing a note!
But what of those who clean the place, although you never see
The floors and toilets clean and then the spotless nursery?
They gladly clean the meeting place, although you never see their face,
And straighten up the meeting hall, though they’re not recognized at all!
And what of those who meet and pray? How very few they be!
Who’ll hide and lift the preacher up, where no one else will see.
Perhaps you bear an empty cup `cause you didn’t lift the preacher up!
