The power of love at first sight.

You simply walked into my view.

And I,
not knowing you were there,
turned and faced you;
not yet aware that the day had come
when I would forever be subdued.

And though I thought myself prepared,
when looking up and seeing you —

I stared;
unable to look away.

Captured —

merely by the sight of you,
this wild Stallion was tamed.

Now,
my eyes have seen a thousand lips
floating on the seas of a thousand faces;
But never have they seen a pair
that held the power to steal my breath away —

until they saw yours.

And I have looked into a thousand eyes
and peered into a thousand souls;
searching for a love so pure, so bold,
that death itself could not make cold,
and time itself could not withhold;

And concluded it did not exist.

But when my eyes,
traveled the short distance upward,
from where lay heaven’s kiss,
and saw the glory of the sun
refracted in your emerald eyes;

I fell into those pools of bliss,
and lost my soul forevermore.

And in that moment within my breast
was birthed a consuming eternal quest,
an explosive inferno I could not quench;
No, not with a thousand seas.

Driven, burning beyond compare,
by this raging in my core
gasping as if there were no air,
I had to have you evermore.
