Caddies.

Twenty or thirty on each course uas employed,

carrying bags, chosing clubs, and lines supplied,

great golfers from little caddies did grow,

open champs, master winners and ryder cup players did flow.

But most courses now have but a few,

some only have one others have but two,

for caddying is dying of that theirs no doubt,

with the motor caddy cars buzzing about.

“Ill not go with him, he’s as mean as can be,

he’ll not pay more than two quid or three”,

when they see him coming they hide in the bush,

but when they are generous there’ll be a big rush.

they cheated and lied to keep up there mark,

and caddied from morning right up till dark,

they carried spare balls to drop in the rough,

to play against someone with a good caddy was though.

I will miss them and so will others,

for caddying reared me and all of my brothers,

up at the crack of dawnto carry big bags,

for choclate and sweets and maybe a few fags.

“ah” caddying is dying and it is sad,

I have my memories and I am glad,

I know they will be missed of that theres no doubt,

with there hideous motor caddy cars buzzing about.
