They Call It Love by Jan Deelstra is a stern look in the face at what passes as “Love” and “God” in a world of shallow emotion.
…and then they justify their moves, their wars, their brutal beatings, their “truths” of life.
…and then they justify their moves, their wars, their brutal beatings, their “truths” of life.
If their “God” is punitive, is judgmental, is racist, cruel, or sexist, I say, “Let them keep their “God” and I will pray to mine.”
If their “Love” is punitive, jealous, brutal, mean-spirited, dishonest, angry, sexist, racist, controlling, then I say, “Let them keep their “love” and I will keep mine.
What passes for love and for god I truly do not understand. What passes the days is not so important as all that could be.
So I sleep.
I contribute as little as those that run in circles and think they are important.
They sleep, but they walk, and they talk, and they think they are doing somethings worthwhile.
They are walking-talking dead.
They call it success.
