A poem asking for the wisdom of the ages to return to us before it is too late.
Dwelling on an ancient King
And all the wisdom he could bring
To trials and troubles we face today,
For his teachings could disrupt the fray.
We have forgotten the sage’s advice,
We have lost our way, rolled the dice,
We came up losing in this dangerous game,
Love and grace we had is not the same.
What would he do to help us now?
I know he would divine truth somehow,
Acknowledging the seeds we have sown
Are the growths of all the blood we’ve known?
Looking back as the days unfold,
We have left ourselves out in the cold,
For we have done nothing as powers rule,
Our own government has made us the fool.
Will we let this disruption of our lives stand?
Or will we somehow take back our land?
Something has to be done and very fast
If we expect our lives delivered at last.
We need not pretend this will go away,
We know misfortune has come our to stay,
Let us roll up our sleeves and scream and shout,
Before the evil coming leaves us no doubt.
I am not the one to save all the Earth,
But I can do my part, whatever its’ worth,
I am calling on everyone; let your voice be heard
Before we are forbidden to say another word.
