We go to bed each night, safe and do we truly understand who protects us, who keeps us safe. Remember! Honor!
It’s quiet here, we lay our heads
Time to sleep, it’s time for bed
Our brothers in another place
Stand strong their ground, awake
*****
While sounds of guns disturb their night
They can not sleep, they swore to fight
So we can rest our weary heads
On all our pillows every night
*****
In green fatigues, strong and proud
They fight their fight and it gets loud
Not departing ‘til the war is won
Our camouflaged angels carrying guns
*****
Brothers and sisters of common green
The force of America, to keep the dream
Where people are free and children are safe
They’re the reason that we can be
*****
So, tonight when you lay down your head
To fall into dream, within your bed
Consider those who are keeping us safe
Our brothers and sisters there overseas
*****
In green fatigues, strong and proud
They fight their fight and it gets loud
Not departing ‘til the war is won
Our camouflaged angels carrying guns
*****
Yet, even on our friendly shores
Angels are here, that do so much more
Allowing us comfort within all our dreams
Not quitting ever, until their job is done
*****
Give thanks and praise this day and night
For the many who chose to fight our fight
Our guardian angels, both here and there
America’s daughter s and America’s sons
*****
In green fatigues, strong and proud
They fight their fight and it gets loud
Not departing ‘til the war is won
Our camouflaged angels carrying guns
Our guardian angels, both here and there
America’s daughter s and America’s sons
