My very first poem I wrote at the age of 12. I was camping with my family and wrecked my younger brother’s dirt bike and cried. So, here’s the true story…
Today just wasn’t my day
For I made a disaster all the way
I feel as though I’ve lost my pride
I fell off my little brother’s dirt bike and I cried
So here’s the story and the story goes
I shifted into fast gear and my body froze
For when I did this
The tree and ground gave my whole right side a big kiss
I just lied there feeling all numb
My parents came to my rescue, I felt so dumb
My brother said I should’ve been looking out
I told him I was, I said it with a shout
So at this very hour
I feel I have any power
The right side of my forehead is sore
I feel as though I’ve just fought in a war
My right hip has a cut that is deep
I know tonight, I’m not going to be able to sleep
Now I just got bitten by a mosquito
I don’t want to go into another story
So I’ll just go!
