The wind lets us know in no uncertain terms that we cannot hinder it. At times it is pleasant, then infuriating and may be fearful. Nevertheless we love it although we know that we cannot hinder it.
The wind blows
Where it likes
At times it may
Sweep you
Off of your feet
- – -
There are strong winds
And weak winds
They are terrific winds
And calming winds
- – -
It’s the same wind
When it’s calm
It’s soothing
And people say
“What a soothing breeze.
Do you feel it?”
- – -
At times it’s not comforting
There’s a rush that’s terrifying
Winds travelling
Over one hundred mile
Per hour
- – -
“That’s a gale, tornado
Or hurricane,” some say
Sweeping up
Everything in its path
Lo and behold!
It’s terrible
- – -
Fallen trees
Down power lines
Overturn cars
Wild water crashing
Against the shore
- – -
Still I like the wind
Which seems to play with us
Telling us in simple terms
Whatever we do
We can’t hinder it
- – -
We’ve to respect
The wind for what it is
