This season another whale retired here,

But will still continue using his gear,

Working with the team in this state,

His jersey being raised is sure great.

Played with a stick that was shorter than most,

And is definitely one known not to boast,

Unfortunately, he was sent away for awhile,

Oh, when the puck is in play stay out of the aisle.

All those years of hard work did pay off,

He has been in many a play-off,

Wearing the cup ring has certainly been a blast,

In every game the opposition he has harassed.

When the guys hit the ice without him,

Trainers make sure they workout in the gym,

At his side, on the special night, is his family,

Of course we all know who will be the emcee.
