A shout out to the good old days of Saturday morning cartoons.

I used to love waking up on Saturday morning and hurried home every afternoon

Can anybody tell me what happened to all the great cartoons?

Knowing is half the battle this I know, I learned that from watching GI Joe

I still get chills when I hear, “Thunder, Thunder, Thunder Cats, hooooo!”

I’ll never grow up; I’m a Toys-r-us kid

I wanted to have a lot of money like Richie Rich did

Transformers were robots in disguise

They were more than met the eyes

I wished they would have killed Megatron

My brothers and I used to try to form Voltron

You were not cool if you did not like Mighty Mouse

And do not even act like you did not watch Pee-Wee’s Playhouse

Inspector Gadget was a bumbling detective

Why was everything Wile E. Coyote bought from the Acme Corporation defective?

Porky Pig had a stutter

My favorite line from Chilly Willy was, “More Butter?”

Woody Woodpecker was a pesky bird

After Popeye had his spinach, Bluto got exactly what he deserved

I learned Spanish from Speedy Gonzalez

I watched Sesame Street to gain some knowledge

Tom and Jerry were sometimes friends, sometimes enemies

Scooby and the gang always solved the mystery

It was nearly impossible to get the best of Bugs Bunny

Darkwing Duck was always funny

He-Man had the power

Snarf was such a coward

Ducktales had my favorite theme song

Almost all of Daffy’s schemes would go wrong

The Smurfs was a cool show, but an even cooler word

They used it as a noun, an adjective, and a verb

You can’t forget the ads

I was a victim to so many fads

Why couldn’t the rabbit have some Trix?

My brother got his nickname from, “Look, Mikey likes it!”

I was cookoo for Cocoa Puffs because of Sonny

I drink chocolate milk from the Nestle Quick Bunny

Toucan followed his nose to Froot Loops

Back then it seemed like Campbell’s only had one flavor of soup

Count Chocula and his friends were kind of scary

But that didn’t stop me from chowing down on some Frankenberry

Lucky could never hid the Lucky Charms from those kids

Did anyone do more damage to walls than Mr. Kool-Aid did?

I thought Fred and Barney best friends and neighbors

So why did Barney have to sneak those Fruity Pebble flavors?

I hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane

Today’s cartoons just aren’t the same
