A cat objects to a striped neighbor entering his territory.

Crouched unseen,

hidden in the canopy of leaves

of my tree castle,

I position my target.

The striped cat sleeps

in the flower garden below.

Mischief trembles through my body.

Ears back, muscles tensed,

I time my drop perfectly.

My claws extend as I silently fall

on that striped bundle

of sleeping fur.

Love it, I have five kitties and it is a joy to observe them.

Great imagery. I have four who take turns pouncing on each other…and sometimes me.

Loved the imagery! You described what a typical cat does perfectly.
