A poetic song of my visit to Mammoth Caves, Kentucky, and all its beauty.
CATHEDRALS OF BEAUTY
Coolness – breath of the earth,
Flowing stone receding from waters,
Brilliant colors mixed in symphony,
Blind fish swimming in darkness,
Holes dropping away forever,
Caverns – some as tiny as bats,
Others – as gigantic as towns,
Crystalline stone fingers from floor to summit,
Their twins reaching from ceiling down,
Hues in bright crimson, amarillo, and dark earth,
With snowy white, ebony, and deep emerald showing nature’s paint,
Eternal black night hiding rapturous beauty,
Our jouney here releasing its glory,
Touching this wonder, we are for all time wonderfully transformed!
