Unexpected things sure do happen a lot.
After throwing away the pieces of a stained glass,
And getting rid memoirs of a broken bliss
As I walk the pavement wet by the mist
You came strolling down the slippery street.
Caught by the sadness in your eyes,
And that gloomy smile that seem to convey a thousand lines
Suddenly what I thought was my misery,
Turned out rubbish compared to thee…
As I passed by and when your eyes met mine
And as I saw brokenness, fragments of thy wings
I knew, I’ll never cease falling on my knees,
For I’m caught somewhere in the middle of this
You’re chasing butterflies in winter breeze
Trying to find a way out of this labyrinth.
Wanting to make all things perfectly right,
But never had the chance to go back in flight.
I can never back down, stay close to the ground
Knowing that in all of this battle that I’ve won,
Somehow, somewhere there’s a soul that cries aloud,
How could I desire joy when someone’s down?
