A man at the wrong place at the wrong time.

It was a miscalculated risk,

and the night of the shooting

had been brisk,

but not particularly cold,

however, different stories were told,

and the truth would never unfold,

a man in jail,

held without bail,

would soon see the system fail,

there were no witnesses,

no evidence to support his claim,

the assumption was,

he was there,

and caught very near,

bad time,

but he was at the scene of the crime,

his alibi was unreliable,

he was guilty right from the start,

as life dealt him this part,

he was truly innocent,

but after the long trial,

he had lost faith and heart,

the guilty verdict took him apart.

Sadly, this happens more often than not. The justice system is run by us humans after all.

sounds a bit like one of my poems, maybe it could have been the same in justice as your story.
