Poetic account of the Barak Obama story, a man of destiny and purpose and the world”s celebration of the moment most in this generation had no guts to hope for, but is here.
He was born Barack
A flash of light in the sky
So his name depicts
Yet his steps were guided
Every inch of the way
In this journey to destiny
He was hidden from the world
As one under incubation, being prepared
To birth change, that we all yearn for
Hidden under the storms of a troubled childhood
But soon to stand above the raging storms
And the sands of Time
His name printed and engraved in the DESPERATE pages of history.
His mother blessed with the true spirit of a nurturer
Wore on him the garment of LOVE GRACE AND STRENGTH
Go on my boy, she cried, the whole world is yours to conquer
If you would just believe
His father, an African immigrant crossed distant shores
With rare courage and dignity
Flung over the sholders of his dear son
The garment of inner strength and boldness to reach for the sky
And shot him as an arrow from his lions
Unto a world where some feared to tread
Though he knew him not as the dad who tucked him to bed at night
Yet his DNA spoke volumes to young Barak than his presence ever could
So giant strides he began to take
Cheered by the voices of his ancestors on both ends of the globe
Voices of the Icons of the freedom movement
And the heart breaking stories of ordinary people who dared to believe
In whose blood and sweat, his feet have been washed
Whispering to himself every step of the way, YES WE CAN
And now in this last step into the moment that the world have been waiting for
Some sceptics are still asking, is this an accident in history
Or an incident of divine providence
Whatever side of the fence you are
Here is the heavenly command for the moment ’Roll out the celebration drums”
From the village tents in Kenya Africa, to the the blazing lights
In Kingston Jamaica ,Las Vegas, Australia and China
Love can conquer and so it has
And African mothers, and mothers all over the world
Raise their hands up to heaven not in despair but in Hope
Children of this generation now can sing a new song of Redemption
Men young and old with tears of joy ,raise their hats to salute
Courage hope and dignity
To a man of the moment, BARACK OBAMA
THE FORTY FOURTH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
