A birthday poem for my two year old granddaughter Brianna.
Early in the morning.
On a fair spring day.
We celebrated a birthday.
Little Brianna is two today.
Breakfast was a feast.
Enjoyed by one and all.
Then came the presents.
A stuffed toy and an Elmo doll.
But while taking down the gifts.
Another surprise was found.
A bag of Mardi Gras beads.
Straight from New Orleans town.
We played with all the beads.
What fun we all found.
Inside a yellow bag.
Where childhood dreams were unbound.
