A short simple poem about avoiding the present and planning for a future (that will never get here, because when it does it will just be another present moment).
the wrist watch
famed present moment killer
has finally been replaced
by the cell phone
and family
the non-existent future
gains a footing
against enlightenment
through giving prevention
another dimension
as a Father
more deeply ignores
his only son
(it’s always some thing)
ever notice
how a stranger
upon eye contact
will nervously
look at a watch
well, now it’s the cell phone
