Dedicated to my friend who is currently struggling in a battle with cancer. I’ve always looked up to her because of her bright smile and beautiful, long hair. Many things have changed since the day she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma… may she forever stay strong. Best wishes… from her friend, Liz Sapphire.
Imminent change after first diagnosis
Bittersweet impending doom alas
Gazing beyond the effervescent sunrise
To see how dreary the day has passed.
Like twilight sparkles, hope lingers
Life still remains, barely, after Death
With a gripping hand, His cold fingers
Eats away the leering wreath…
Of tangled, mingled, unseperable faith
For the evanescent beauty cascading forth
Changes forthcoming, like winter, like snow
Like abandoned shells among the shore;
What if we payed closer attention
What if we really cared
Would we notice the imminent changes
Would we notice her latent despair?
