This is a personification poem. A type of metaphor in which human characteristics are given to animals, objects or ideas.

“I can feel myself changing,”
said the shiny green leaf.
“Soon I will turn to gold.
What color will you be?”
“I will be a bright red,”
said the other green leaf.
“I’ll look like a glowing flame,
here in this tall, mighty tree.”

I love dialogue in poems and you did a great job with this. The leaves come to life with an identity due to the word exchange and clarity. Very well written. Michael

I like talking things . What a creative mind you have to construct this piece!

You’re really good at this type of poetry. I haven’t tried it myself. Thanks for sharing.
