A poem that connecting earthly pleasures with religious themes.
Chocolate and Vodka
Edible bars of gold,
a sensual morsel that
is all mine.
Forgive me Father for I have sinned,
I say with a syrupy smear upon my grin.
Is it a heresy to say that
Hershey hedonism never tasted so good?
To this the priest said to me:
“Drink some Holy Water to wash away your wrongdoing.
It will make you fall to your knees.
You will be speaking in tongues.
The truth will set you free
(however blunt it may be).
Love thy neighbor as thyself
(and hold their hair while they barf).
Let the Holy Spirit over take thee.”
