With a nutty twist.
I wake up
in the morning
the day ahead
seems bright.
The chocolate scent
of cookies
wafts into my room.
I see them
golden
waiting.
One bite
a temptation
I can’t resist.
That’s odd
there’s a tingly sensation
something crunchy.
Oh god
who made these?
I clutch my throat
reaching
for the phone.
It’s too late.
At least I had a cookie.
