A familiar problem after Christmas in lots of homes is the sheer quantity of chocolate which is left over.

Christmas is over and the family has gone
And the New Year is approaching fast
I’ve got to get rid of that left over food
So I can try and slim down at last

But now comes that little problem,
Which happens in our house every year.
It’s the dreadful chocolate invasion.
There’s so much around me to clear.

I promise I didn’t buy any this time,
But friends and family know I can’t resist,
Because lots of my gifts when I opened them up
Did of all kinds of chocolate consist.

There’s only one thing I can do about it
I’ve just got to throw it all away.
But it hurts so much to see it go to waste,
I’ll delay my diet for today.

And my resolution for the New Year
Is to cut out all foods which are sweet,
Then I can really work on healthy eating
Until my desired weight loss is complete.

Honored to be first, and in the name of one of my greatest vices! My reps at work are very familiar with my infamous quote “… and chocolate is always welcome at my desk!” A lovely end of year write Christine. :)

    Happy New Year!

Oh my friend you and I both! I have put them all in a big bowl for a party at my house tonight,I am hoping everyone will eat them!! Happy New Year! At 10am UK time I will be celebrating midnight, so will probably be asleep with a glass in my hand, stuffed full of chocolate by the time my daughter’s celebrate, then I have to do it a breakfast on webcam, my son is in Vancouver, so a glass of wine and chocolate for breakfast, Perhaps I had better hide that bowl from my guest!!! LOL LOL Have a great night.

My mother gave me a tin of Fudge Squares. Something her mother made for me and my sister while we were growing up. I have not shared one single piece.

We also got more chocolate than normal this Christmas. I keep thinking the sooner I eat it all up, the faster I can get to working it off. LOL! Great poem!

Chocolate is also my downfall but if you cut out every sweet then you will end craving even more of it then if you just ate a sweet every once in a while. Great poem again!
