An original poem by Aubrey Lambach.

Bring me your chocolate heart.

Place it in my hands.

Entrust it in my care.

With me, it will not melt.

Is it sweet?

Or dark?

Or bitter?

Let me taste your love.

Its aroma lures,

But is it safe to follow?

Dare I take a bite?

It meets my lips,

Satisfying my desire.

Its milky texture on my tongue

Is euphoria.

But quickly

The sweetness fades.

For I need sustenance,

Not just pleasure.

You have left me

Hoarse and wanting.

For your love is not true, it is dry.

You fed me chocolate without water.
