Original Poetry 2005.
Outer beauty is not eternal,
With each year it washes away.
New experiences in the inferno,
Fade the beauty of yesterday.
With each passing day I grow weary,
In front of the mirror I saw a change.
Of other’s judgement I often worry,
So shyness locks me in a cage.
Inner beauty lasts forever,
As long as your heart stays true.
You values can be taken away never,
They can only grow to adorn you.
So each day I grow stronger,
A mirror cannot reflect this beauty.
So I hold fast to it even longer,
Outer beauty is just so petty.
It comes and goes as it pleases,
And does not make a committment.
Inner beauty helps with your choices,
And stays in your heart’s confinement.
Be beautiful on the inside while you still can,
And make a choice today.
Spread the word across the land,
And end the wars of yesterday.
