A little factoid you should know about me: I like to ponder many a things. Life is my favorite thing to think about of all topics. Why are we here? What is our purpose?
Do we all have a specific purpose that we are destined to accomplish, some special someone that we are meant to be with, or, do we have multiple destinies, all based upon the choices we make everyday, and each new choice can lead to a new road, a new person, a new experience, and ultimatley a different destiny than if you had made different choices. For example, let’s say you’re a girl, and you choose to go on a date with this guy you know. You realize that you two really like each other and have lots in common, and you can laugh and talk together about pretty much anything. You start going out, and your relationships, like all human relationships, go through periods of highs and lows. One day you’ll be so frustrated and upset at them over something you won’t want to talk to them at all. And another day you’ll be head over heels and won’t be able to wait to see that person, can’t wait til the next time you can hold them in your arms or cuddle up with them on a cold winter night drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows. You end up realizing that you love each other one day, not just the feeling, but the choice inside of you, to make sacrifices for that person, and knowing that there isn’t another who could take his place. You may end up getting married, having lots of kids who eventaully grow up and are married and have kids of their own while you and your love grow old together until the day you die.
That’s one possibiltiy. But, let’s back it up a bit and look back at a specific choice. What if you, whoever you are, had said no to going out on a date. The guy may have not wanted to try after that, figuring you would never give him a chance so he should just move on. If that had been the choice, then none of the above would have ever happened. All of the happiness and joy and suffering and all the other emotions that come along with a relationship would never have been, all because of a single choice. Makes you think a bit more about your decisions. Every choice has a reaction to it, and leads you down a certain path, which in essence leads you away from another. You may never know of another path, unless you choose to wander down it.
