When words are measured…

I wanted to say it precisely
to tell you what it meant
and why it had to matter for us both.

I turned all I needed to speak of
in all ways I could see
found a way to arrange them just right.

When my words were perfect photo frames
to show my true intent
I gave them up to you without restraint.

As you heard you did not disagree
you even slightly smiled
when I invoked a nice memory.

Now your eyes have all of the answers
your voice need not reply
words can not alter choices that we made.

So final, Casey. This is very expressive. I think I liked the line, “and why it had to matter for us both” the best.

Yeah! One of my old favorites.

“my words were perfect photo frames”

    and

“Now your eyes have all of the answers”

    my two favorite lines.
