A poem about Christian, a girl who trusts in her family to save her.

Pastor Jim leans over,

and kisses his wife,

their first baby girl,

takes her first breath of life.

“We pray that the lord,

will keep her from sin,

and this is why,

we named her Christian.”

Christian was such,

a kind little child,

her life was simple,

and usually mild.

She went to church,

every Sunday,

and never knew,

another way.

She went off to school,

at a good bible college.

She had all the answers,

and biblical knowledge.

She married a man,

that she met in her class.

He took care of her well,

and the marriage did last.

They had children that grew,

and went off on their own.

After her husband died,

she was left all alone.

She went to church,

like she had all along,

but now she was sad,

and hated each song.

All her life she was happy,

because she was loved,

but now she was left,

and loved one had moved.

One day Christian,

took her last breath,

and was that day met,

with the cold face of death.

With all the church rules,

she kindly consented,

but from her sins,

she never repented.

She thought she was fine,

but her hopes quickly caved,

although she was Christian,

she had never been saved.
