Christmas Music Not Yet

How I feel when the radio stations start playing Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving.

You are my favorite radio station -

Why do you have to annoy me?

It’s the day after Thanksgiving -

Let the Christmas music be!

I have a full tummy;

I’m definitely not in the mood.

Why do you have to play Christmas music?

Why are you being so rude?

The Christmas spirit hasn’t hit me yet.

I change the station to no avail.

Maybe I should do something evil?

That way I can be carted off to jail.

It’s not that I don’t like Christmas.

It just takes me a little more time.

Now there’s a little over a week til Christmas;

I can’t get those songs out of my mind.

With a smile ear to ear,

I listen and I sing.

Full of holiday cheer -

Praise the Lord Jesus our King!

They really do start up the Christmas music early. Perhaps it’s to make up shop early and spend more! Thanks for posting!

In my country (in the Caribbean) we hear Carnival music (soca and calypso) before the season is over in anticipation of the revelry in February of the following year.
