Did you ever think the perhaps it wasn’t power or brightness that made the Christmas Star stand out, but beauty? Or perhaps some other special quality that made wise man pull up from their regular lives to follow it to Bethlehem?

Diadem diadem, dancing in the sky.
Diadem diadem, flying way up high.
Diamond in the dark
Twinkling bright all night.
Out of reach of any branch
Of any bush or tree.
Diadem, oh diadem
Led wise men east one night.

This one danced into my head tonight… perhaps not a sugarplum but it also reminded me of the night I saw Jupiter’s moons through binoculars for the first time… so precious and brilliant, tiny diadems… The brilliant sparks inspired the images that inspired me to write, though not the direction the poem took.

Love the word play and the smoothness of the flow of this one.
