A little boy who gets his Christmas wish.
Christmas was quickly drawing near
For a special little boy;
Tommy knew what he wanted that year,
It wasn’t just any toy.
He had to have what he saw in that store,
It was beautiful, shiny and red;
More than he’d ever wanted before,
“I need this bike”, he said.
Tommy had to talk to Santa Clause,
He needed to let him know;
Santa would grant his wish because
His mother had told him so.
He quickly rushed out to the mall,
Wanting to be first in line;
And he flashed a grin when, first, he saw
That big red SANTA sign.
Sitting up on Santa’s knee,
St. Nick asked, “What would you like?”
Tommy said, “There’s just one thing for me,
I have to have that bike!”
“I’ll check my list and check it twice”,
Santa told the little boy;
“I’ll see if you’ve been naughty or nice
before I bring you the toy”.
That night, in bed, he could hardly sleep,
As little Tommy lay;
A time or two, out the window he peeped,
Was his bike in Santa’s sleigh?
In the morning, Tommy quickly arose,
And at the tree, he looked around;
Unwrapping gifts of toys and clothes,
His bike was nowhere to be found.
There, he sat, with a bit of a sigh,
It seemed for quite a while;
Casually wiping a tear from his eye,
But still, he kept his smile.
“Help me in the garage”, said his dad,
and there, oh what a sight;
“Surprise!” The man exclaimed to the lad,
it was the bike, so shiny and bright.
“This is just too good to be true!”
Tommy ran to the bike with a swish;
The note read, “Tommy, from Santa to you,
I remembered your Christmas wish”.
