Ah, the hustle, bustle and anxiety of the last week before vacation!

Christmas vacation countdown
The kids are all aglow
With mischief and anticipation
Of no more school, ya know.

Temperatures outside have plummeted;
So tempers rise within
As confined children unexercised
Raise a fearsome din.

Chores undone, songs unsung
Hurry, hurry to get them finished
Handmade gifts from art class–
Get them home undiminished!

Vacation plans–castles in the air
Whether visits with kith and kin
Or putting up our feet
To read and rest within.

Christmas vacation countdown
The teachers are all alglow
With anxious anticipation
Of no more school, ya know.
