I am tired of the lies, but Jesus I will still worship you, even when your bride lies.
Tell me Church, do the walls
Of your congregation speak
With ill informed speeches,
Are they aware of the mishap
And the colorful paint that
Hides the cracks in the wall?
Do the pews line up in a way
That pulls the visitor in to
Hear words of heresy or have
You come to preach exegesis?
When we paint a picture of
Ourselves and tell the story
Our way we never make
Ourselves look bad even if
We do.
Tell us church, why do you
Not speak of your iniquities
Why do we put on a false
Sense of perfection and present
God as something tangible?
The pastor behind the pew is
An honest man, statistics lie
We can never see any sin from
The man up front, why that
Blasphemy would blow our
“family” away.
Tell me professor, is this
Training to breed the purebred
Falsehood that has been shown
Across these districts for so long?
I guess the doctrine is good so I
Can excuse the exclusion and
Pardon your party that didn’t
Include anybody whose sins
Were worse then yours.
Where is your authority, how
Have we come to this with our
“strong” biblical background
Because God I do not remember
Reading any of this hypocrisy
And hate in your word.
Lord tell me why your bride
Cuts you wrists at your altar,
Why the men with oil filled
Lamps have left your
Covenant behind, lord tell us
We are not worthy.
