A poem about surrender.

I walk along this cliff’s edge,

Teasing fate to shove me over,

And down to my death,

On the endless rocks below,

But still the wind doesn’t blow,

The world is still,

And so I move on,

It is as if there is nothing holding back anymore,

Nothing keeping me here,

But why don’t I leave?

There was something in your eyes,

Something I saw for a moment,

Was it a glimmer?

A shine of all possibilities,

Or radiant glow of all that could be?

It must be that mystery,

That keeps me here,

It must be the challenge,

That keeps me here,

It must be the fact that you need me,

And is that just a lie I tell myself?

No, or I would be gone by now.
