Have you ever been on the verge of kicking someone out of your life and, at that moment, they redeem themselves?

A late night call to you
To complain of unfair treatment
On your part
The one-sidedness of it all
I have made you my first priority
Seems I am not even in your top ten
We were supposed to be partners
You and I, a team
Support each other – not you lean on me
Until I can no longer stand
I wanted to give you a piece of my mind
Put an end to the friendship
We’ve shared for so many years
I’d had enough
My fingers poised to dial your number
The phone vibrated in my hand
I glance down to see your name and picture
I answer, teeth gritted, mouth set
To call you unspeakable things
I heard the tears in your voice
You called to apologize
